Field Trip: Pilikua Biological Park(Zoo)
Field trips are a regular feature for the young children.
A zoo is a great tool to educate the students. It mainly exists to educate and conserve the animals. As a part of the curriculum the students of class K3 had been to a field trip to the Pilikula Nisarga Dhama Biological Park (Zoo) on 26th October 2016. A zoo’s paramount purpose is to promote wildlife conservation.
The purpose of our trip was to provide students the knowledge about animals and the characteristics they possess that allows them to live in their habitat. The students left the premises at 8.45 a.m. and were accompanied by 4 teachers and 2 helpers.
The previous day of the zoo trip, the teachers talked about the zoo and the animals within their class i.e., the food habits, their body parts and the space that they need to make their habitats. They showed children the pictures of the animals they would be seeing. They also shared a story about the animals in the jungle.
The children were excited to explore the zoo. They got to see animals like Tiger, Cheetah, Lion, Fox, Snakes, Monkeys, Crocodiles etc. Alhamdulillah! The students enjoyed the day.
