Drawing Competition 24th September, 2016

Drawing make kids more expressive. Children are sponges of all the information that they are exposed to. They absorb everything that they see, hear, smell or touch. And drawing is an important form of expression in their development. Not everything that they want to express can sometimes be said in words or actions; this is where encouraging students to draw comes very important.
Drawing competition was conducted for classes 1-5. Every class was assigned with a topic. The topic assigned for Class 1-3 was “SAVE WATER” and for class 4-5 was “SAVE A WATT TO SAVE A LOT” OR “BE AWARE, USE ENERGY WITH CARE.”

Fun Day 26th, September 2016

Everyone needs a little unstructured fun in their day, and Fun Day is perfect for having time dedicated exactly for that. To get students out of same routine, the fun day was organized for students of KG Classes.
Students as well as teachers were dressed up to keep up the spirit of the day. Many fun filled activities were conducted to foster young minds to enjoy playing with their new friends.
The Teachers distributed the gifts and chocolates. Alhamdulillah! It was totally a fun day.

Pililkula Heritage Village 24th September, 2016

The purpose of our trip to Pilikula Regional Science Center and Heritage Village was to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. This visit was organized for students of Class 3 to 5.
The students got to experience ancient methods of employment like handloom, carpentry, pottery making, stone carving, sculpture making and so on, which are no longer practiced. The power oriented technology has replaced all this ancient methods leaving the artisans unemployed.

The purpose of our trip to Pilikula Regional Science Center and Heritage Village was to provide students with experiences outside their everyday activities. This visit was organized for students of Class 3 to 5.
Pilikula Regional Science Centre is an example on how the science can be learnt, taught and understood easily. The Models in the Science centre are prepared by using materials that are inexpensive, which has been demonstrated to the students as well as the teachers that learning science is not expensive. It can be learnt by making small models by materials which are waste and of no use.
It helped the students to understand science in a fun and interesting way. The students got to experience the experiments and models. They even got an opportunity to think out of the box, which led to better learning process.

Drawing Competition For KG Class

The process of creating the artwork itself builds self-confidence, as the child goes from an “I can’t draw” mindset to one of “I can enter this contest — and I might win!” Drawing Competition was held in our school for KG classes. Children had to draw something which interests them and color it. The motive behind this was to improve their fine motor skills and to think out of the box. To inculcate the competitive spirit within the students, the competition was conducted. For the winners it was the fun of the reward and learning to be a gracious winner and for the others it was the practice of dealing with disappointment and being a good sport. Alhamdulillah! All in all it was a successful competition.

Karate Competition, 3rd September 2016.

Karate helps us develop self discipline and self confidence. It also helps the students to develop leadership qualities. Our students had participated at the 2nd STATE LEVEL OPEN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP-2016 which was held at Moodabidri on 03.09.2016. This event was organized by Rajya Karate Shikshakara Sangha Karanataka and Shorin-Ryu Karate Association. BIS students were recipients of 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 14 bronze medals by competing with students from various schools. BIS Team also won “THE BEST SUPPORTING TEAM-2016” award at this event.

Lacing Activity, 7th September 2016.

Lacing activity helps strengthen the tiny little fingers and wrist muscles. It also helps to improve eye and hand coordination, but the imagination portion that stems from it is priceless. Our school conducted lacing activity to asses if the students can attempt lacing task independently. Children were given different color papers and ribbons for the activity. The activity was done to see if children can put the ribbon inside the holes and join the ribbon. The kids were interested to do the task. Alhamdulillah! The students were successful in doing so.

Collage Activity, Event 7th September 2016

Enjoy the world at your feet as you escape into the skies in a hot-air balloon. The experience of taking in the world below like a bird, the quiet that comes with being so many hundreds of feet above the ground and the sheer thrill of being up in the air, provide unparalleled pleasures. Our school conduced hot air balloon activity in the form of collage for K2 students. The activity was conducted to develop the fine motor skill in kids and also to learn more about the Air transport. Children were provided with different color papers and were asked to tear the papers into small pieces and paste it neatly in a given outline. The kids were eager and enthusiastic to complete their work. Alhamdulillah! The kids were happy to see their Hot Air Balloon ready.

Xseed Parent - Orientation Programme

XSEED System is working in almost 800 schools in India and abroad. With XSEED, students observe, reflect and explain concepts in their own words and develop higher order thinking skills. It is research based curriculum methodology which will add another chapter in growth of BIS In Shaa Allah. In this context , " XSEED PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME" was organised for the parents of all grades on Saturday 27, 2016 for enhancing the awareness about the xseed programme implemented in the school. Mrs. Dubey, Education Coach for BIS from XSEED education explained about the novel of the approach of the programme.

Aeromodelling is the design, construction and flying of model airplanes, helicopters and rockets. Barakah International School has organized an event on aeromodelling on 13th of June, 2016 at its school ground. The event was dedicated to learn the technology behind designing and flying of aircrafts for the primary students. The event commenced with a presentation on the principles of flying, aerodynamics and aircraft components which were demonstrated with the help of EPP Foam models of glider like fuselage, wings, horizontal stabilizer, vertical stabilizer, elevator, rudder and aileron. The students were fascinated to see the model airplane flying over the range of 800mts controlled by a wireless radio-frequency receiver and transmitter.
Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman of Barakah International School said, “Technology should be introduced to the students with its origin and theory. Once they are familiar with the concepts the students will find it easy to relate it to real time applications.”

As we all know that happy minds are a result of healthy bodies and the best part is- BIENG HEALTHY CAN BE FUN. To impart this idea amongst the students and educate them on hygiene way of preparing and eating food- JUNIOR CHEF Competition was conducted.


In the beautiful month of Ramadan we got an opportunity of sharing gifts with each other. Exchanging a gift is a means of nurturing mutual respect and conveying love. In spirit of love for fellow beings gifts were exchanged amongst the bench mates.


Celebrated with the motive of imparting the message to the little ones to “SAVE ENVIRONMENT AND SAVE EARTH.”

Red colour day

In order to infuse the concept of red colour to the tiny toddlers the red day was celebrated. Clad in red dresses, students were made to recognise red color through various games and play-way activities. To make the generation next practical, the school has adopted a noble method of educating the tiny tots.
